Repair of Baptismal Font. Oak.

All Saints Church, York.

This 19th century Baptismal Font from a central York church was damaged by a random act of vandalism.  The tracery was the most difficult part to replace.  The font was originally constructed in sections.  To replace the tracery and to be as little as invasive as possible, the new work had to be made and carved in layers and then slid down from the top and into place.  It was carved in oak and polished in to match the original.
